Living in Makati-What's It like?

      by Anonymous

The Philippines is known for its hospitable and kindhearted people who will gladly take you in despite the lack of provisions for themselves. The country boasts 7,107 magnificent islands and exudes a unique Filipino charm which will appeal its way into your heart. The Philippines is also the third largest English speaking country. That makes it suitable for all tourists and staying foreigners, as most people will understand you.

This country has been through a lot of lashing out and put-downs especially from first world countries. It has seen much devastation and heard numerous accounts of harsh words. Some are true, though some have been exaggerated. Nonetheless, the Philippines has pushed itself up, rising to every callous occasion that has tried to bury it deep within the ground.

The Philippines has its very own city that never sleeps - Makati City. The central business district of the Philippines, as it is most popularly known, Makati host the top businesses. Makati has the hippest clubs with parties until the sun comes up. Fine dining that will satisfy your cravings and malls that rival those in any country. It boasts towering skylines that are breathtaking from afar. But if you want a more spectacular view of Makati, only a ride on a plane or a helicopter will do its beauty justice.

Makati City was not a full-blown operating city during the pre-Spanish times. This impressive metropolis was a mere wasteland, almost like a wilderness, when it was first founded in the 1670’s. Nevertheless, it has gradually grown into a community that makes a huge impression in the cultural, economic and social history.

This striking metropolitan area has a lot to offer and has various characteristics that make living more fun and entertaining. Accommodations are one of the best aspects of Makati. You can choose from a vide variety of apartments, townhouse, condominiums; and even houses that range from small to mansion-like proportions.

When it comes to choosing a place to live, availability, budget and status are major factors. For those who have a family, apartments, townhouses or houses are the best options. These choices are spacious and can usually accommodate four or more family members. However, if you plan to share the pay for rent with a friend, apartments would probably better, as they are cheaper and more accessible.

For those who love the city but want to move away from the hustle and bustle of the urban area at night, houses in certain villages are great selections. There are a number of different villages to choose from, depending on your budget. There are those that will fit right in your budget. These simple villages have clubhouses that have amenities for the whole family like swimming pools and basketball courts. Of course, some of these villages do not have a 24-hour security guard, although most villages are safe for you and your family.

Some villages comprise houses that have a higher price value due to their exclusivity. These villages house some of the well-known celebrities and politicians in the Philippines. Foreigners who want a more elite and private place also choose to stay in exclusive villages. Communities like these have parks for the children to play in and they even have soccer fields, swimming pools and basketball courts for leisure and family activities. For families who have pets, walking them would certainly not be a problem as there are lesser cars to worry about. Association dues are quite steep in these villages but you can be sure of your safety and security.

For single people, condominiums are popular in Makati. These high-rise buildings serve those who love to live the good life. Aside from the spectacular views of Makati, condominiums give you a feeling of privacy. It’s just great to know that you have your own place. A few minutes walk away from Makati’s hotspots, condos are a hit for yuppies who enjoy the nightlife.

Living in a condominium may seem glamorous but there is a downside. Waking up as early as 7am to the sounds of cars revving and honking incessantly at each other because they can’t move.
