Caribbean islands are the stuff of dreams for many who have endured the harsh winters of Minnesota. Longs stretches of sugary sand, sparkling water teeming with tropical fish, and the strains of island music drifting on the sweet night air.
But before you go join Jimmy Buffet, do your homework.
More than one island nation may provide your dream escape. And some are large enough. But many of the smaller shards of paradise can make many folks feel "island bound.
If you feel that the Caribbean should be your future home, consider the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Puerto Rico or even *shudder* Cuba.
